The main share of fires is caused by the burning of dry grass and debris

    An unscheduled meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Liquidation of Emergency Situations and Fire Safety of the Republic of Tatarstan was devoted to the topic of fire safety in the Republic of Tatarstan today. Unfortunately, statistics show a significant increase in fires compared to last year on the territory of the republic. At the meeting, measures that need to be taken on the ground to minimize damage to villages and villages from landscape and man-made fires were announced.
    Opening the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations and Fire Safety of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nigmatullin recalled that in April - May of this year in the Urals and Western Siberia there were fires in six large settlements.
     - Fires destroyed a large number of residential buildings, outbuildings, commercial and social buildings. There are also dead. The fire was fought mainly by the residents themselves, at the peak of the fires there were no fire trucks or evacuation alerts.
    Local self-government bodies have cleaned the territories of settlements from dry grass and garbage on a total area of 1,531 hectares, and mineralized strips with a total length of 477 km have been made.
    At the same time, despite the ongoing complex of measures, there is an increase in wildfires compared to 54%.
